• If you’re referring to the optical terminal, not sure why this would be a deal breaker. The HDMI connection to the TV and then the optical connection from the TV to the sound device should work. Yes, it’s an extra cable to hide and maybe requires some rearranging of device location - but a rather small inconvenience. I was surprised, too, though, that this version was without the optical output.
