QuestionIs this an all in 1 type connector? For instance, can I use it to run to HDMI as well as have a USB hard drive plugged in reading data off of the hard drive? Does this eliminate the need for me to buy a USB A to USB C adapter?

- Answer No, this will only work from a usb-c connection which is not on an IPAD air. It would be on a laptop type device or desktop device.

QuestionWill this work via my DirecTV App on my iPhone - to my TV? I've read on several sites that one of these will not because of protection rights....But don't see how it wouldn't. Want to use for watching games when the TV gives out because of wind

QuestionWill this enable me to connect my Thunderbolt Display to my 12" MacBook (even if I need to purchase another adaptor). Didn't realize that I couldn't use a USB-C/thunderbolt adaptor with my MacBook. Would hate to lose one or the other at this point.

- Answer No, this has a USB-C interface. All iOS products until recently (i.e. 11” & 12.9” iPad Pro) have been using lightning. It’s a very different connection.
