There’s no sim for the watches you just add a line for whatever carrier you have as long as the watch is paid off it should be unlocked.

I bought my watch from Best Buy outright And took it to my carrier AT&T. I had asked the Apple store and Best Buy and they both said that this watch was unlocked.
