At the time I ordered my watch, I was told there was an offer running for 3 free months service and waive of the activation fee. Not sure if AT&T offered the promotion or someone else (like the store or Apple). The watch ordered came in weeks later. My first bill had an activation fee on it. I called AT&T and they credited it off. I am not sure if I will get the 3 months free service or not. You might want to call AT&T and ask them to check if there are any available promotions currently on the watch.
