I think the stainless is probably more durable, but you can get a case for it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The stainless steel version only comes as cell+gps. I had the original (series 0) in stainless. It was nice, but the aluminum series 4 is pretty nice as well. My wife had the series 0 in aluminum and it held up just as well as my stainless.
