The only way you can switch the carrier is if you are purchasing the device straight out. If you lease the device(phone/watch) you have to pair it to a carrier upfront and can not switch it until the lease is over
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This may not answer your question but as far as I know, when you activate the watch with your carrier, your watch gets its own phone number. The phone and watch are still synced acting as your main phone number. I'd assume as long as the watch is paid off, you would be able to switch it to another carrier. It's always easier to get more factual answers by calling any carrier who sell iphones and apple watches.
