• Yes it’s possible you have 60 days to add the protection plan also the plan transfer with ownership of the product

• Yes you can. Whenever you gift the watch, have that said person go to iCloud under settings and you can add your info and purchase AppleCare (Apples insurance) which is better then phone carriers insurance in my opinion!
