• The UV light will go on for 10 minutes once you open the cover and lower the cover to begin a sanitizing session for the toothbrush heads.

• It should turn on when the to is closed. It's worked as soon as we plugged it in, every time we open the door! It can get annoying but it doesn't require any setup beyond plugging it in.
