Yes the sound is adjustable you can turn it off completely or as loud as you want. One thing to keep in mind is that this one from Best Buy is an upgraded version from the one you can buy from Walmart. The biggest difference is that that newer version has two speakers facing down below the marquee while the older version at Walmart has a single speaker on the control panel.
