“How good is the DAC? I can either connect this through my Marantz SR6015 and use the DAC there or use this one and go through my tube preamp. Just curious if the DAC is decent.”

Well that’s what you are paying for with a player like like is the Dac. So better use this Dac in the player. Better than most out there. It’s really good.
