The HDA-980 power amp is strictly power. There are no video processing connections/HDMIs or conversion of any sort. The AVR10 is an actual AV Receiver with power integrated within. If you’re looking for space efficiency, you can go with the AVR10 and have everything in one box. If you want or need more power to your speaker, you can add the HDA 980 for more power (with Class G amplification)
