• Nope. Even if you have a wired doorbell it still requires the batteries.

• Yes, there are additional terminals on the back of the Arlo doorbell to replace existing doorbell. Not 100% sure if that get rid of the battery all together. Considering all the functionality the Arlo doorbell has I would say no. You would loose talk back capabilities and perhaps WiFi. You gain the function of it ringing exsisting chime.
