“Does the Arlo Essential allow for set recording times or is it motion detection period only? I have 2 and have tried to set them to record for 2 minutes but they still only record just a few seconds.”

Yes, you can set different recording times in the parameters. I have Arlo camera's that begin recording when a different camera begins recording and they are set to record for different durations of time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You have to purchase the bigger plan from arlo to get more record time. They usually keep recording as long as there’s motion going on and it depends on your battery settings, but to Continuous record it requires upgrading on the app.
