• I think when they mention if it’s plugged in and say no it is referring to the connection/data part, in regards to the power source, yes you can connect it to a power outlet.

• It has a charging cable to charge the batteries.

• You could leave on charger but I don’t know what that would do for battery. I have to take camera down when battery gets low and charge it You could keep cord attached to camera and charge it by plugging it in if you have outlet close enough. Only thing with that idea is it makes it more noticeable. Cameras work great and if you don’t mind getting a ladder out ever couple of weeks I would say buy it. We have four and one in house. The indoor one does stay plugged in.
