Yes, but the better question is would it be truly turned off when you adjust the setting (or does it just stop showing you recording when set)

I don't believe so, in this version of the product, there is no capture of images otherwise available (i.e. SD card). It is very easy to delete any files generated and currently stored in the library (rolling 7 day window of alert related files).
