• yes and no.... if you live alone then you won't because it can link to your cell phone. But if you want an actual chime for the door bell then yes you would need to purchase one separately. Its only like 50 bucks. Not bad for the cost of the entire system.

• No, the Arlo Essential 2 Video Doorbell can be connected to an existing compatible chime. Alternatively, you can purchase an Arlo Chime 2 which is an internal audio chime.
