I converted over from the same model you mention due to the fact mine wasn't able to keep up with my new high speed internet & the unit was compatible with COMCAST-AKA ( XFINITY ). Now with the new unit ARRIS - SURFboard 16 x 4 DOCSIS 3.0, better connectivity & with 550-Mbps Down load speed & 43.5-Mbps Upload speed it was the correct choice. But Don't take my word for it talk with a GEEK staff member first to confirm compatibility with your equipment
