A:AnswerI was able to get the modem and router set up with Spectrum without any issues. I had to use ethernet cable first to go through the setup but Spectrum activation portal read it immediately and walked through the setup. I had to enter the CMAC # and then Spectrum ran a query and connected without issue. However, I have not been able to use the telephony connections with Spectrum at all. I had to use a splitter and connect the voice service back to the old modem. I'm going to call Spectrum to see if they can do some setup on the voice service so I can return the old modem back to them.
But the speed is great on the internet signal.
A:AnswerI don't have Optimum. However, here's my advice. First check with Optimum to find out which devices they recommend. I did this with Comcast which helped me to identify the devices from which to select. Took the risk out of the purchase process for me.
A:AnswerAre you speaking intermittently, or all the time? Regardless, make sure the unit is off the floor, and that you don't have close neighbors who may have gateways that are interfering. If so, try changing channels.
