NO.. There is no phone port. Am not with comcast, but my twc reps told me that i will have my phone connected to there modem free of charge, while i have my new modem connected to internet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This modem does NOT have a phone jack. I took back the Comcast phone modem, got this modem and signed up for Basic Talk and saved $53 a month. They send you the required adapter for free, port your current number for free, and it just hooks to an empty Ethernet port on your router or any network switch for that matter. The service tax and all is $11 a month compared to $54.95 for the regular rate Comcast phone service plus you save the $8 modem rental and the call quality is the same. I personally would not buy an emta modem when most of the companies out their that offer VOIP service GIVE you an adapter for free.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This modem is strictly an internet/tv modem. If you have a phone plan (triple-play) you will need a different modem. There aren't too many retail modems that offer telephony support... you'd have to go the way of the auction sites or other online retailers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No the rep is correct
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. An eMTA (embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter) is required for any VOIP phone service. You could use majicjack but you would have to connect it to your computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was told by the cable company where my phone/cable/computer is with, that I still had to use their (cable companys) modem to have my phone work... sad... BUT... I still can have the credit (on my cable bill) and NOT pay their modem rental fees anymore. Now I have to use 2 modem boxes... ohh wellz.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried connecting the phone modem to this and it works well. But this modem has only one port and hence I need that to connect to my wireless router which also has 8 additional ports. I use one of those ports to connect my Vonnage phone modem and it has been working very well. Either way I do not see any issue if you connect a VOiP phone modem to its eithernet port. It should come across as another CAT5/6 load to it and nothing different. If not then just buy a hub or a cheap router and connect the modem to that. BestBuy has a few good and cheap routers/hub
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i use Comcast worked great for me, just go to the browser and put in the IP what the modem ask for.
