This modem does not directly support a land line for VOIP-- meaning it is not going to allow you to plug an RJ11 satin line cord into it -- VOIP itself though will work fine - meaning if you were using Vonage, Magic Jack, Google, or any other VOIP service, it is simple a small device that you would plug into your network router, that would terminate the phone connection and handle the VOIP data - TWC ( at least used to , I got rid of mine a year ago ) pushes the VOIP calls through there own private network, so using a non TWC managed device generally won't work. I personally found -- Obihai - OBi VoIP Phone Adapter Sold right here at Bestbuy works great with Google Voice. Frankly I like the Google Voice features better anyways - and as long as you are not calling international -- its free.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.have you try Magic Jack Plus? good phone service, no need PC but high speed internet, I have not use land phone services for years and happy with Magic Jack other than the USB power supply seems not doing too good, but they gave you a free one only charged you $5.39 shipping fee.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The problem isn't that your modem won't support it. The problem is that TWC has put protections in place so their phone service only work on their modems. In short, TWC won't support your modem. The best way to get VOIP is to simply sign up for one of the subscription providers (Vonage, etc.). below is a link to a site rating some of them, and another with some suggestions on what to look for. Hope this helps. http://voip.about.com/od/servicesandsolutions/tp/Top5Providers.htm http://www.isp-reviews.org/voip_provider_tips.htm
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We recently got rid of the Comcast phone line for that reason and went with the OOMA system. After buying their Telo, it is just as good and MUCH cheaper!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.if you can switch then voyage is a good option - they do not have a specific modem requirement - so I use this with vonage on their 9.99 world plan
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Vonage, Google voice, lots of voip options. But this modern doesn't support a telecom landline.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use MagicJack. Works well and is very cost effective.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have Time Warner with the tw phone service too. Yes, you do have to keep the tw modem just for the phone. After installing the modem with a splitter you call tw and they will change your internet over to the new modem and disconnect that portion from the old modem. They will then reimburse you for any unused potion for the month and you won't pay for the old modem when just using it with the phone. There is no modem on the market available so I was told with both internet and phone except twc modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this is a MODEM only for internet. You must have the provided modem for your phone. TWC told me it was free to keep, as it is not something available to most out there. I would call and ask TWC itself to see about the "price" as you will be using your own modem for internet services.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately you would still have to keep the Time Warner modem to keep your phone service. There are currently no consumer modems you can purchase on your own that will support phone service. Id check with vonage and see what their fees are if you are dead set on maintaining a land line.
