I answered this under a different user question. RCN puts out a list of what you need to ensure it's compatible BUT they failed to say if you have TiVo, you must schedule a technician to come out to take care of adding a component to your TiVo boxes. There's also a rental charge for the components. I didn't know this until AFTER I bought the Arris and tried installing it. I returned it because of the added tech cost and rental fees. Wish I could've kept the Arris ... I really dislike RCN's obsolete equipment. I don't know about Service Electric.
