• No, they connect wirelessly. Only one needs to be on LAN if you’re using them as your primary router.

• These devices do not need to be connected. The communicate wirelessly with each other. One will need to be connected to an internet modem and the other can be placed anywhere in the home that you need Wi-Fi coverage.
