QuestionDoes ASUS lock the UEFI BIOS so only Windows can be installed on this laptop? I bought an ASUS VivoBook Flip 12 Model No: TP202NA-OB04T and I could NOT install Linux on it because ASUS locked the UEFI BIOS. ASUS did not advertise this fact at all. Bad.

- Answer You will need to disable Secure Boot, and enable Launch CSM to install other operating systems.

QuestionCAN I INSTALL LINUX ON THIS LAPTOP? I have NEW very similar ASUS VivoBook Flip 12 TP202NA-OB04T. It took TWO WEEKS of fighting with ASUS Support for them to FINALLY admit they DO NOT allow anything but Windows on that laptop - the UEFI BIOS is LOCKED!

- Answer Contrary to ASUS support, the UEFI BIOS is *not* locked, and you can run whatever OS is capable of running on the hardware. ASUS has info on their website for entering the BIOS and booting from USB. Do a search for "asus e203ma How to enter BIOS configuration?" You'll need to turn off secure boot and fast boot and also allow booting from USB devices. There are some youtube videos that ASUS has put out for doing this, but we can't post links in the comments. You'll probably find more info in the related videos from that search. FYI, Linuxmint 19.1 runs quite nicely on the E203.
