Yes you can switch it out of S mode and still run windows. Once you switch out of S mode you can't switch back, but you are able to switch out of it.

Once this is completed, please go to Settings, Activation then click "Go to Store" and follow the wizard in order to switch the OS free. After a successful switch to Windows 10 Home Edition, third-party software or application, like FL Studio, can be installed.
