Definitely, a good recommendation for basic computing needs like, banking, emailing and Facebook.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn’t spend a penny over the ASUS 14” Zenbook. It’s actually overpriced, IMO; but they’ve got it on sale for $594.99 right now. I bought my son that model, but his needs are a little more advanced since it’ll be used for research papers, and anything else a college kid would need one for. Just, whatever you do, if you go for the THRIFTIEST, like I do, invest in an external drive too. I can’t stand backing everything up to my OneDrive, in my Microsoft Account. But, ya gotta back your work up to something, especially when/if you’re on a budget. My ASUS Vivobook costs a whopping $241. Including tax! And, that’s without pricey Geek Squad protection who NEVER has “good news” to give you, even when you actually purchase their protection. Aside from the many ASUS models, I’d definitely recommend a Lenovo PC, for sure! Lenovo has plenty of laptops and some very good deals offered, from what I’ve seen. You can get a 14” or larger display, and they offer many choices from whether the keypad is backlit or if you can use it like a tablet with touchscreen to just the basics, but with a lot more storage than the one ASUS I have. I actually just noticed they’re advertising a particular Ideapad 15,6” display (with 8 RAM!) @ $399.! I ALWAYS SAY NO TO: Anything “Chromebook”, or anything HP. BUT, aside from the ASUS & Lenovo, there are Acer laptops that have many huge fans, and definitely have affordable PC’s for the things you turn to a laptop to work with. I’ve learned to make sure, if you’re not planning on gaming, to steer clear of the models designed for gaming. The software takes up too much space that you’ll never use, plus they tend to get very “spec driven” when it comes to this and that, which means their cost is sometimes just ridiculously high for what your needs are.
