According to what I have read you can do so but your difference in games are minimal. I do know they just came out with the new ryzen 9 and if your wanting to go with a faster processor I would look into those because they have a larger core processing speed. If you do decide that you want this computer and want to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 I would call the manufacture of the computer to verify everything. When I change anything in a computer and don't know I try the specs and if I don't get an answer I call the manufacture giving them the model off of the computer to ensure that what I am changing or adding is completely compatible with the system.
