U didn't say if it was the touchpad or the mouse.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I doubt this has anything to do with Windows 8. Have you tried an external mouse? I suspect it is your mouse pad on the laptop, either it is excessively sensitive and is tracking other parts of your hand that are too close to the pad or it is faulty and if under warranty, then you should contact Dell. You can check the mouse pad settings and see if it offers a sensitivity adjustment. If you attach an external mouse and it works fine, then that is most likely the problem. You could always uninstall the track pad in Device Manager and let Windows reinstall it after a reboot and\or see if Dell has updated drivers for the track pad but these are unlikely fixes.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sooo annoying, right? Honestly, I don't think it's a specific machine issue as much as an occasional glitch. It's happened on my Toshiba, HP and a DELL and, and, and... And it sometimes happens on Windows 7, 8, and 10 and on different machines. When it happens, it makes it impossible to use the PC. I freaked at first because new PC but it's happened now on others and different versions of Window, and at different times. Each time, I reboot and problem solved for the time being.
