A:Answer I upgraded the RAM to 8gb. There is only a single slot and I didn't want to risk a single 16gb stick hoping it might work so I used an 8gb stick that came out of a stock DELL Inspiron 7559 (Recommended and supposedly compatable Kingston Hyper X resulted in non-boot, thus the switch to the dell memory I had available)). You need to remove the entire top of the laptop including the keyboard, then you need to remove the HD, DVD drive, Nic card. You then unscrew all the mounting screws for the Motherboard so you can lift it. The memory slot is UNDER the motherboard. It's a pain but doable if you go slow and take extra care when lifting the keyboard, don't yank it open because it has frail looking plastic band type connectors for the mouse-pad and keyboard that need holding tabs to be unlocked from the motherboard before actually lifting and removing the keyboard. None of this is hard to do, you just have to be mindful of the connectors and take your time.
