- Answer I'm not familiar with the other model you are referring to, but the hinge on this laptop is very durable and much better quality than any other screen hinge I've seen (I've broken a few myself over the years). It is made of metal like the rest of the laptop and there is no plastic bezel around the screen like all of my previous laptops have had. The screen itself is more like an iPad- flat all the way to the edges.

- Answer Hardcore gaming, no not at all. Maybe casual gaming but the specs on this laptop indicate no dedicated graphics so don't expect to be playing graphic intense games.

QuestionI am left handed and the off set touchpad makes it difficult for me. Could someone tell me if the touchpad is in the center like the pictures or is it offset?

- Answer While the product specs on BestBuy.com and the manufacturer's website mention an Ethernet port, I am not finding one displayed in any of the pictures. There is not mention of one in the user manual either. Thanks!

- Answer After you buy, you can load whatever OS you like. It is easy to swap out the hard drive.

- Answer Ew... It's a "TN" or TFT display. Massive light bleed-thru, and extremely washed out looking. But if you disable the "Auto Brightness" and turn the brightness level all the way up, then it may pass as acceptable enough to work around it. It's a horrid display IMHO. It's THE reason why I had to pass on this little BAMF. I'm mad that Asus didn't up the screen quality to the same as it's listed brethren Did I mention I was mad about the screen, Asus?

- Answer Hmm.. You're right. Even on the Asus website it doesn't give a specific estimation. "The battery can be recharged up three times as many times as ordinary batteries, giving you longer life before they have to be replaced..." Also, "...in standby mode for up to 14 days" makes me think it would last through a whole day's use for a quite a while... But realistically, unless you're a gamer or have a job that requires all day computer use, you won't need it to last longer than the usual 7-8 hours. Keep in mind, that may be reduced to 5 hours after a couple years.
