My opinion - all tech stuff is obsolete the minute you pay for it and walk out the door. It is kinda like buying a car and driving it off the lot - the value drops instantly. That being said, the product is great and well worth the money. There will always be something new/better/different. This is a solid product - well worth the money - and a great investment. I bought one for my senior in college; turned around and bought another for my sophomore in college; and will soon be purchasing my own. Go for it!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am kind of in the same boat as you are. So many out-of-date devices that need to get trashed and replaced with something that will meet my needs...and last for a couple of years, without any hardware upgrades needed. So I too am looking forward to the replies to your dilemma. ------ FWIW, I did read today that Windows 10 will be out soon. Production will start in June 2015 & some hardware manufacturers are stating devices are expected to be available, with Windows 10 preloaded, around the end of July 2015...definitely in time for Back to School sales. It is my understanding that if you purchase any device with Windows 8, you are eligible for the FREE Windows 10 upgrade, within a year of purchase. Also, I have read that Windows 10 s/b more user friendly to Windows 7 users (vs. Windows 8).
