Some cables are "active" and therefore directional. Look on the connector to see if there are any arrows indicating the direction of signal flow from the computer to the monitor. They will not work if "backwards". If that is not the case, it could be a bad HDMI cable. Try another if there is one available, even if you borrow it from another device just for troubleshooting purposes. If that does not work, there may be an issue with the monitor. Good luck!
