Q: QuestionASUS appears to be the only mfr of home wifi routers (non-ruggedized & < $500) on which USB 3.0/2.0 ports support a 3g/4g cellular USB dongle or hotspot. Has anyone tried such a connection on the ASUS RT-AC1900P, and if so, how well did it work? Thanks!
Asked by ruraluser42.
- A:Answer Not sure about 3G, but 4G works very well. I would guess that 3G works just fine since the 4G did. Never a dropped connection while using it.

Q: QuestionWhat VPN service can I use with this router?
Asked by Rhett.
- A:Answer You can use almost any one you choose. There is an OpenVPN page in the internal software to configure connections to your choice. It took me a while to figure it out because the ASUS instructions are not that detailed and ASUS support merely emailed me the same instructions already included in their manual(!) but trial and error got it up and running. Be mindful that the VPN affects all computers behind it. I mention it because of the nature of bank security, let's say, they don't like rotating or out-of-region IP addresses and such. You will probably have to turn off the VPN feature to connect to those types of secure sites and use the local IP address from your ISP, not the VPN.

Q: QuestionWhat is the warranty period on the RT-AC1900P? On the Best Buy website it says "unavailable." One of the reviews states that is only 90 days. And another review says there is no warranty at BB. Routers sold by ASUS have 2 year warranties.
Asked by Mark.
- A:Answer On the ASUS box it states a two year warranty. Of the 4 ASUS products I have, I have not had to use the warranty since they have never failed.
