All you should need do is turn off the router (wifi signal) portion of the Motorola unit to prevent interference. The Asus RT AC5300 will connect to your Motorola unit via Ethernet Cat5e in the same manner as a standard modem. Be sure to make note of the SSID and Passphrase for the Motorola.
