• Yes it can. If you use FIOS for example you have to keep their router/modem for OnDemand. For this you would just plug it into the LAN/WAN port on the back of the ISP router/modem and then turn off the Wifi setting on it and set this up.

• I use a Google Fiber modem/router combo with no problems. A Motorola modem/router combo should work as well. All you should need do is turn off the router (wifi signal) portion of the Motorola unit to prevent interference. The Asus RT AC5300 will connect to your Motorola unit via Ethernet Cat5e in the same manner as a standard modem. Be sure to make note of the SSID and Passphrase for the Motorola.
