There is no fees after purchase for this device. You will still have to pay your normal monthly internet service to whoever brings internet into your house. As far as setup goes, if you want to set up a specific SSID or lockdown with a special password, you will have to connect some device to it and go to the settings of the router.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First this is a router not a modem so no fees since you need a modem to connect to and that is what you will pay connection fees for. To set up you have to connect to a device like a laptop as there is not a keyboard or screen as this is just a router. I had trouble connecting wirelessly so ended up using a cable connection to my laptop.
