Can the SSD be upgraded? Can the RAM be upgraded? null

Asus is half wrong. The RAM is soldered, but the SSD is a PCI-E 4.0 SSD, socketed, using a 2280 form factor. Use the recovery utility to make a backup image, YES you can swap the SSD, and then insert the USB backup to install ChromeOS and start with more storage.

The ASUS CX5403CMA Chromebook does not support RAM or SSD upgrades, as both components are soldered and non-replaceable.
