- Answer Yes, it comes with Windows in S mode, but you can switch to Windows 10 Home for free. However, once switched, you cannot switch back to S mode.

- Answer Yes, this laptop should be a very good laptop at this price for a 9 year old for light homework. As long as the online games are not "resource hogs," that is, as long as the games do not require a high end CPU and video card, and lots of RAM, this laptop should be fine for the type of games a 9 year old would be playing.
