It happened to me after about 3 months of usage. It was quite bad because the keyboard won't respond even after reboot. here it is a possible fix that worked for me: use the screen keyboard if possible to log in. from another PC send an email to yourself with asus url: https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ROG-Strix-G/HelpDesk_Download/ Open the url, and under the drivers & tools select G531GT model, 64 bit Windows At the bottom you will see the hot fix ROG Keyboard Firmware Update tool V2.1.8 download it, install it and reboot It is a shame that such a critical defect was inflicted upon unsuspected consumers, and the fix is so convoluted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well i thought this was unique to me. I'm glad i looked here. My keyboard kept randomly becoming unresponsive the third month. The only thing that usually worked for me was uninstalling the driver and rebooting. And i had to use the onscreen keyboard to even get back into the laptop. I took it to best buy for repair since you can only return in 30 days. They couldn't replicate the problem (since it's random) so they sent it to ASUS. ASUS couldn't replicate the problem so it was sent back to me as is. It has gone out multiple times since then and it's only 6 months old now. Now my speakers are nothing by horrible crackling static. I really expected better from an ASUS gaming laptop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Same problem. Keyboard died on day 2, Asus cust spt got me going by uninstalling the driver and restarting then went out on day 5 and wouldn't come back. Called Asus again and I felt like I was talking to a bunch of guys googling answers. "Go to our website and download our drivers" uh no keyboard fella "oh nvm, we dont have keyboard drivers for that one". They offered to rma it, but why would I rma a laptop when I can just return it? Best buy set up a geek appt for 20 minutes after I called them and they agreed, return it for a refund and pick another. Well it's hard to find a comparable laptop at that price so I decided to give ASUS another chance, but if this keyboard gives me problems they will be off my purchase list forever.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do have the same issue, but i have not asked about it yet. try to uninstall keyboard's driver and install again.
