It should not void the warrenty, the fact in the box it includes a HDD cable. installing is simple and really requires only some skill.

However, if you needed a warranty repair, the device would need to be returned to it's stock configuration, and any damage during installation of 3rd party drives would void the warranty. We recommend professional installation help if you are not comfortable changing the drives.
