“For those who aren't inclined to add extra fans or change the case ourselves and void the warranty, does anyone have experience getting Asus to fix the cooling through warranty service? Or will the replace the system with one that has adequate cooling?”

As long as no physical or customer induced damage will occur during the hardware changes or modification process, ASUS will honor the warranty on original parts only. The cooling system is efficient to dissipate heat properly while under heavy load.
