• Yes. To keep the system quiet, there's internal temp gages. The system is also extremely well ventilated. Almost the entire top is a vent.

• It's normal for the fan to spin at a full-throttle temporarily during POST(Power On Self Test) or when the PC powers on from power off or cold boot. Yes, the PC has temperature sensor or thermal diode that triggers the fans to turn on automatically when system gets hot.
