I would qualify this laptop as a desktop replacement. But what you mean by college work? If you are focused on term papers, research, presentations, and high-performance gaming then you will do well with this laptop. Just keep in mind that this is a heavy laptop, may not fit your school bag, and will require a wall outlet for any activity lasting more than 1 to 2 hours. If you need this for engineering, 3D modeling, programming, video editing, Animation, AI, or some other high-performance application then I suggest purchasing the laptop, loading your software and testing it. That is really the only way you are going to know. Also, depending on the application, you may want to increase the amount of RAM and storage. You will also be married to the wall outlet for these types of activity due to increased power requirements.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Currently using it for EE coursework. Runs all simulation and coding software fine. I.e. PSPICE, MATLAB, LABview, Quartus Prime VHDL and Modelsim, Visual Studios, and Arduino IDE.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is more than strong enough for whatever you throw at it. I use it for editing and high end gaming. So far, no slow downs or lack in quality at all.
