I've only had mine for 4 days so far, but I haven't had any issues with backlight bleed, and no issues with drivers so far.  Been running great.

I own this laptop.  When I received the laptop there was what appeared to be light bleed along the bottom bezel.  It turned out that the bezel was not properly seated and just need a gentle pinch to set everything right.  After that, the screen lighting has been very even.

Regarding the Drivers.  Be sure to run Windows Update until there are no more updates.  Then run MyAsus to check for any system drivers and Firmware updates.  Then, run Armoury Crate and install any updates detected there.

Finally, I updated the nVidia graphics drivers and nVidia Experience.

It took the better part of an afternoon to install all updates for everything.  This is typical fair for any new Windows computer.
