• No, it doesn't cause any problems, the laptop will still bootup if the ingrated AMD graphics controller was disabled in the Device Manager.

• I have not tried this, but I cannot imagine it would be an issue. The 6800M does draw a lot more power than the onboard graphics, so this could be a consideration if you are running on battery.
