You can only have 16GB in dual channel. If you take out the 8GB chip you can put a 32GB chip in to top you off at 40. You take a performance hit but you do gain 24gb ram so decide if the tradeoff is worth it before upgrading.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can confirm up to 40GB of RAM Purchased 8GB onboard + 8GB SODIMM model (GA401QM) Removed 8GB SODIMM and installed 32GB DDR4 - 3200mhz SODIMM 1.2v CL22 from Micron/Crucial Installed and works great at 40GB! Only complaint about this machine is the misleading AniMe Matrix screen Although Asus makes it seem like it works with all G14s that is not true My model has the ability to do it yet they chose not to - very irritating. As for screen brightness, it is subpar The 144 refresh rate is great though. Best feature is the keyboard - absolutely perfect tactile vs noise... Something like a cherry red. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best Buy's product page in the Specification section indicates the maximum is 24GB RAM capacity. That basically means you can only purchase 16GB as the maximum RAM capacity. As for what you can put in, it's a SODIMM DDR-4 PC4-3200
