It is amazing how the power of a high end desktop gaming PC from two years ago can fit into a 14inch laptop under 4lbs. The Ryzen 9 5900HS cpu in this thing has enough power to be relevant for at least 3 years. The RTX 3060 is a good balance of speed and power efficiency, although the 6GB may require realistic graphic detail adjustments in near future games. I do not think any gpu more powerful or higher wattage would be possible in this chassis. The RTX runs through Radeon iGPU which does reduce performance in cpu bound games, but allows freesync adaptive sync to eliminate stutter and tearing. The usb-c port on left side of unit supports displayport/hdmi directly from RTX 3060 with optional adapters. I verified Gsync works through usb-c port with displayport adapter to my external monitors. I have seen a lot of complaints that the HDMI port is not connected directly to RTX but I actually feel this is a good thing because it allows longer battery life when hooking up to projectors during business presentations where the power of RTX is not always needed. For simple slides and video, the Radeon is sufficient and the RTX can be used via Optimus if presentation requires more graphical grunt. The cooling system is about as good as physically possible in a chassis this small without using a more expensive vapor chamber design. The liquid metal thermal interface on cpu helps minimize cpu thermal throttling issues. If running simultaneous cpu + gpu stress for prolonged periods, expect some mild throttling on either gpu or cpu as they share heatpipes. The VRMs seem to have dedicated cooling plate and pipe. Asus engineers seem to have found best balance between power and thermals. The touchpad is small but very smooth and responsive. The keyboard has good layout. The backlight is improved in uniformity compared to last year, but still difficult to see in medium light conditions (especially at low keyboard light brightness). I put a 2021 G14 black keyboard cover on system and I think it makes system look better in medium/bright light rooms. The speakers are loud and actually have some low frequency response. Probably the best speakers outside of a Macbook Pro. The screen on my unit had minimal light bleed and good black levels. For text and videos, I had no complaints. Unfortunately, I do notice ghosting from the relatively lower response time. It is definitely better than last year’s model, but resembles a fast VA panel more than a fast IPS. Anybody sensitive to ghosting/response time should consider something else or use external monitor when not traveling. The single m.2 slot and single SODIMM slot is disappointing but understandable. There is literally no space to fit additional slots due to small system. I wished all 16GB was soldered with open slot for user to add more. But I suspect more than 90% of users will find the 8GB soldered + 8GB SODIMM sufficient. At least there is option to increase RAM to 8 soldered + 32 sodimm in future even if only first 16GB will be dual channel. Overall is probably the most processing/graphical power in the smallest/lightest laptop available on the market (Apple ecosystem users should also seriously consider Macbook Air or Pro M1). It is easy to carry around and allows use of up to 100watt PD USB-C charger to reduce need to take 180watt brick on trips. Just remember to get external webcam or learn how to use phone camera as webcam because there is no builtin webcam on this laptop.

Performance: This is truly a powerful machine. For my usage(Schoolwork, light gaming, youtube), it is more than enough. When I play valorant, it runs at a constant 144fps(I limited it) and rarely drops at all. The same is true for when I play Splitgate. Genshin Impact is also very smooth at high graphics 60fps. However, this performance comes with fan noise and keyboard heat. The WASD keys stay cool compared to the rest of the keyboard when gaming, but it does still get warm. But, this is a small laptop, so there is limited cooling space. Keyboard: I love typing on this thing. Period. Travel distance is great, and the ergolift makes my hands feel comfortable while typing my essays. Touchpad: The glass trackpad on this thing feels great. Others may feel that the trackpad is too small, but I personally have no problems with the size and it works for my usage. Battery: I'm sure that you guys already know this, but the battery life is impressive. After an hour of usage doing college work, I used 10%. After 4 hours, I've used 40%. I guess that means that this laptop actually lasts 10 hours like others have said. Speakers: Comparable to a Macbook's speakers. That says a lot. Now, lets move on to the cons. Connectivity: My model comes with the Mediatek Mt7921. Idk if this is normal for the 2021 g14, or maybe it's just a BestBuy thing. The wifi speeds on this computer are SLOW. On my OnePlus 8T, when I'm downloading at 40mbps, the g14 is downloading at around 10mbps. When my phone is downloading at around 10-20mbps, the laptop is downloading at 1-3 mbps. This means that when downloading large games, it took hours before I was able to finally open it up and play. Quality Control: This is probably one of the G14's biggest issues. The QC is horrendous. I haven't seen many people talk about the power button, so I'm not sure if it's just my unit, but there are gaps and it isn't even. Not a huge problem, but may be irritating to some. Additionally, when I first pulled the computer out of the box and set it on my table, the computer base wasn't even and would wobble if I pressed on the corners. If the screen was closed, the computer would wobble when I pressed on the top left corner of the laptop. When the screen was open, the computer would wobble if I pressed on the right palm rest. I could fit my watch's wrist strap between the rubber feet and the table. To fix this, I took off the bottom panel/base and reclipped it firmly and rescrewed all the screws back in. Boom. Problem fixed. No more wobble. I suspect that one of the pressure clips wasn't fit in, resulting in an uneven base. MORE Quality Control: My left fan rattles. The fan under the WASD keys. I'm not sure whether that's the CPU or GPU fan, so I just said WASD keys. You guys have no idea how I felt when I sprinted upstairs after receiving my delivery from the FEDEX driver, then opened the box, booted it up, just to hear rattling sounds. For some reason, the fans only rattle at low speeds, and don't seem to rattle when it gets to 2900 RPM and above. The uneven base only made it worse. The rattle was a bit quieter after I fixed the uneven base. But it was still there. Overall, this would've been a great computer if not ruined by quality control.

The ROG Zephyrus G14 is a well built compact laptop. I was pleased with the form and weight however, it took some getting used to coming from larger computers. Generally I found the system to be fast and responsive but there have been quite a few technical issues which were resolved through system updates and installing the latest drivers. My first few weeks with this device were focused on troubleshooting issues which I’d like to say is understandable. In use, the laptop can get very loud especially when plugged in and on turbo mode. This would primarily be during gaming, though, it does also get loud when in seemingly less intense activities. I personally don’t have an issue with the fan noise but I have noticed that in turbo, while gaming, the keyboard would get hot and uncomfortable to use. Apart from the heat (which I have only experienced once so far) the keyboard feels so good to use. Way better feel and key placement than the magic keyboard I use at work. The backlighting is good unfortunately, the white light on silver keys makes it difficult to see in different light conditions. The lights also pulse when the laptop is asleep while charging which is a fun feature. The audio quality is really good and I’ve been told that I sound loud and clear during “video” calls. You may notice that there isn’t a built in webcam. Fortunately the display hinges are very sturdy and can easily support a plug and play webcam. The display is sharp and beautiful. I love the colors and tone so much that I don’t think I’ve had to adjust the brightness at any point. My last point will be on the fingerprint reader. It works about 97% of the time. Just remember to reinstall the driver from the Asus website and add multiple fingers to improve your chances.

As I do not wish to poison the well on this product, I'll start by stating that this is quite possibly one of the finest mid-range products that you can purchase for Best Buy in regards to a high performance, mid-range productivity/entertainment laptop. The size, weight, aesthetic and performance all punch well above the price point in this current market of scarcity. However, there is a very big downside specific to the 144Hz model of this particular product. The 144Hz FHD panel is a low quality panel with a high response time. This high response time leads to noticeable ghosting, even when performing simple tasks such as word processing or scrolling up or down on websites. For those of you who have sensitive eyes, this can definitely cause eye strain and fatigue and is most noticeable while gaming. For the record, I'm coming off of an Asus Zephyrus M15 (2020) with an i7 10750H and 8GB RTX 2070 Max Q (also from Best Buy). In terms of raw performance I'd rate this product (2021 G14) about 5%-15% better in terms of GPU performance and around 15-25% better in CPU performance from last years very good M15 model. But that depends on the titles you play and how you adjust your manual fan curve, cpu wattage and gpu clocks. I strongly suggest lowering the CPU wattage to 25 watts, this will allow the RTX 3060 to perform closer to it's tdp cap (80 watts) and it will perform nearly as well or better than last years RTX 2070 Super Max Q. In terms of actual desktop equivalency, this is somewhere between a GTX 1080 and RTX 2060, so adjust your games settings accordingly. You should have little to no issue maxing out most games from last gen at 1080p, but you may find that you'll have to reduce certain features or graphics settings in more modern titles. The 6GB of vram further hurts this as you'll have to decide if you want better textures and fewer graphical niceties, or more graphical niceties and lower textures. As far as heat goes, this laptop performs about as well as last years M15 model, you're looking at temps between 60c and 81c depending on the title and ambient room temperature. If you have a blower style cooler, you'll be able to keep this product at or under 80c in the majority of titles available. If you're just running the laptop with it's own cooling, you'll have to expect the laptop to become uncomfortably warm and cause your hands to sweat. I would suggest gaming with a controller in those instances and limit your game time to a couple hours so you don't wear out the components. As far as gaming in silent mode, that's completely possible with this product and even better than with last years M15 model. You can expect 60 fps in less demanding titles even with higher settings. You'll just have to decide as to whether or not you're going to be able to deal with the ghosting problem. But if you plan to hook it up to a monitor or tv, then that isn't an issue, is it? Games Tested Monster Hunter World - 1080p, Max Settings, Constant 60 FPS Fallout 4 - 1080p, Max Settings, Constant 60 FPS outside of Boston Center, 50-60 FPS inside Boston Center Rainbow Six Siege - 1080p, Max Settings, TAA, 100% Render Resolution, 90-129 FPS Valheim - 1080p, Max Settings, 60 FPS Minecraft Bedrock RTX (Truly Vanilla RTX Textures by CubeIR) - No issues, splendid performance I will be returning this product and exchanging it for the QHD version whenever that's back in stock. That said, I'm only returning it because I cannot deal with the ghosting, beyond that, this is a top grade product for it's price class and I strongly recommend it.

Outstanding Laptop for Gaming and Productivity

This laptop is really astounding. As a lifelong Apple user, I originally bought this to game on, but have been gradually using it for work as well. Pros: - Build quality- the build quality is excellent. The Magnesium shell is solid and high quality. - Design- I love the look- it is compact and light, and the ergo-lift hinge is very clever. - Keyboard- The G14 offers a fantastic typing experience- I love typing on this computer. - Display- The display is bright, beautiful, accurate, and fast. While some complain of ghosting, I have no problems and love gaming on it. - Performance- The new Ryzen mobile processor and RTX 3060 really knock it out of the park. This thing will play anything you throw at it. If you're willing to put in a little more time, you can tweak things to get the best balance between thermals and performance. - Battery Life- This thing has amazing battery life when used for normal laptop activities. You do have to manage power profiles, however if you do, this can yield amazing results. Cons: - Keyboard backlight- This is far improved over the 2020 model, but is still too dim on the silver keyed model during the day. It is brighter and more even however. - Temperature- This thing can exceed 90 degrees Celsius when gaming. Again, tweaking the settings can help with this. - Backlight bleed- I realize it's perfectly acceptable to have some backlight bleed or glow. But my 2020 model had an unacceptable amount of backlight bleed. My 2021 model is better, but there's still a little bleed in the lower right hand corner. - Can't disable Nvidia Optimus- You can't disable Nvidia Optimus, which means in some gaming situations you might leave some performance on the table. - Very little expandability- There's only one M.2 slot, and half the RAM is soldered to the motherboard. Any memory you install over 8GB will not be running in dual channel mode, which Ryzen CPU's love. - No webcam- In the era of COVID, this omission doesn't make any sense. I'm sure I'm missing something else, but the overall experience of using this machine has been excellent for me. I feel it's the perfect blend of portability, power, build, and character. Yes, character! This doesn't feel like another generic Chinese laptop- it feels like it was thoughtfully and lovingly designed. This is my first gaming laptop, and I'm duly impressed. I'd highly recommend this laptop if you're looking for a portable gaming rig; if you don't need the portability, a larger and thicker laptop with higher voltage CPU's and GPU's will give you better performance. But for most of the 'laptop things'- the G14 kills it.

AMD Ryzen establishes dominance over Intel

I'll keep this review fairly simple. This is an excellent all purpose laptop. It's thin, light, has a style that isn't outlandish for a workplace setting, and at the end of the game you can comfortable and effectively game on it. The Pros: - Ryzen 5900HS is an absolute monster and destroys the current Intel offerings on price/performance. It's not even close. Even when lowering the CPU to 15W power limit to lower temperatures it still pulled an impressive 7400 total score on 3DMark Timespy - Screen is decent, did notice some ghosting but the viewing angles were good and brightness could be better, but overall acceptable for the price range - The keyboard is excellent. The keys have good actuation, they have a nice feel to them, and they are spaced perfectly on my opinion when you compare to other laptops like the Omen 15 that are too close/small keys - Battery life is excellent, I got close to 9 hours with display brightness lowered and light web browsing, but from what I hear YMMV Now, the Cons: - This thing can run very hot on the stock settings. We're talking 94C +. This is because of how the Thermal Velocity Boost works. You'll want to use a cooling pad if you use this on your lap (if you want to have kids anyway), but I found limiting the TDP in the Armory Crate software to resolve this without a substantial impact to performance. - Fans can be loud, though on a device this size this isn't really abnormal or worth detracting from the rating. - Key lighting is... Meh. On maximum brightness it is fine, but the keys can be hard to make out with the lighting on. - Only 1 ram upgrade slot, other is soldered. This is expected in most laptops this size, but doesn't mean we have to like it. - As mentioned in the pros, there is some ghosting still that they didn't fix from the 1st generation of this laptop. Overall, this is an amazing value at MSRP and if you can catch it on sale or open box it's unbeatable.

Originally wanted this laptop, but I didn't want to pay the extra $600 at the time (believe it was $1499 at the time), so I bought a Dell Inspiron 14 7000 with a Ryzen 7. That machine crashed in programs so often and had issues with sleep mode, trackpad glitching out, and a poor quality display, that I did a return/exchange and was able to get this on sale for $1199. This is the best laptop I have ever tried or owned, and for the price I paid, it's a no brainer. Smooth 144Hz display, Wi-Fi 6, loud speakers, GREAT battery life especially for something this powerful, fast Ryzen 9 and RTX 3060 performs the same in titles as my custom built Ryzen 7 3700x + desktop 3060 build, and it's a 14 inch laptop, so it's not a large, heavy brick to carry around. Good keyboard solid trackpad...really have no complaints so far about this machine and hope it stays that way. Couldn't recommend it enough. Only minor complaint is the lack of a webcam, so that's something to keep in mind before purchase. But I don't use it often enough to care. Hope this computer will last me at least 5-7 years, and with how well built it feels, I believe it will. Finally found a machine worthy of retiring my old ThinkPad T460p.

Excellent specs, good graphics, great processor, but no webcam, and when I put it to "sleep" it pops back on or the backlit keyboard flashes rhythmically. Battery life isn't great while gaming, but that's fine, I'm mostly in areas where I can keep it plugged in. Great for games like Genshin Impact on the highest settings, I've also played Borderlands and Killing Floor 2, and it's more than good enough for average laptop use: emails, webpages, streaming music/movies. I'm super happy even with the small-ish screen, it's compact and portable, and I just HDMI it to an external monitor. One thing I don't like is the power plug is angled and the port is right next to the HDMI port. Also it has two USB-c ports (one on each side) and only two USB ports right next to each other. Be aware there's no ethernet port. The fan is kinda loud and tends to run immediately just having the computer on, even with no applications open, it runs pretty hot. As I said though, I'm super happy with it, my previous computer was a Dell Latitude E7440 so MAJOR upgrade :D

Pros: - Plays all modern games I've thrown at it on Ultra (Doom Eternal, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 4) - Has fantastic audio, much better than my macbook pro - The screen at 144hz is very nice - The keyboard is good and doesn't feel so chicklet-y - Overall build quality is great Cons: - Too few USB ports, and they poke out on the right side, so if you put a mouse on the right side it collides with wires from anything else - The keyboard is silver and lights up, in some lighting conditions it makes seeing what key is what very difficult. - This baby gets hot! I highly suggest a lap desk and a cooling pad - Although it has decent specs, clock speed on the gpu and cpu are clocked at lower frequencies likely for heat managment.

Competent little mighty mite. Lots of power in a small package. This particular model machine is a custom model sold only by bestbuy, the big difference is the improved gpu. Most test bed software reads the motherboard information and says you have a ryzen gpu but it's actually the nvidia as stated by best buy. As it comes in the box RAM is dual channel and very fast, if you upgrade ram you drop down to single channel speeds. You have to decide if you want to give up faster ram for more, there's no way to get dual channel speeds with over 16 gig because chips must be matched and there is 8 gig soldered onto the motherboard not socketed. This is such a highly speced out little beast most of us aren't even going to notice it if you ask me. Officially largest RAM chips supported is 15 gig but people are successfully dropping 32 chips in here and not having issues. (check youtube). I was a little afraid of such a small screen but the screen on this guy is very nice, even for fast action games not bad at all. When the gpu kicks in you know it fast, heat starts pouring out the side vents, I'd recommend a cooler mat for this guy, at least the back of the case raises it up a little off the table so there is airflow beneath the machine. Also when the video chip is purring along the keyboard gets pretty warm, no cold hands on this guy when gaming. There are two usb A on the right and a usb c as well. Left side has usb c and hdmi port and a miniplug for headphone. The keyboard is backlit but hard to read if the machine is flat on the table, they could have done better with the keyboard if you ask me. I've only had it a few days and I'm liking it. It seems to run black desert online competently and that is a fairly graphic intensive game. Any highly speced out laptop like this is going to put out some heat that's just where our tech is right now. Not sure I'd pay full price for it but the open box price I got was reasonable for all you get. There is no sata drive slot inside only the single nvme m2 slot but those are constantly getting larger, biggest these days is 8 tb and still pretty expensive, no compatibility issues with 2-4 tb models that I've heard of.

The only issue with this laptop is it’s so nice that I don’t want to use it. While I am not a competitive FPS player this computer runs every game (AAA, Indie, etc) perfectly and is truly amazing. It never stutters and while it can produce quite a bit of heat that is not easy to dissipate as it’s dispenses through the top of the keyboard, overall I have had little issue with this. It being Asus means Armoury Crate, MyASUS and the Nvidia Control make this easily manageable for updates. It’s lightweight for college and is quiet as a mouse. I love it and it has continued my love for all things asus

So this was bought for my girlfriends schooling. Perfect size, style, and performance. It’s Ryzen 9 is the best for multitasking and gaming. The 3060 provided enough power for an external 1440p 144hz 27” gaming monitor while playing Valorant and getting 144fps! Only reason for the loss of a star is about one month after owning the graphics card went out. The computer would be fine on an external monitor but when she would unplug it to take it to school, the screen would produce a rainbow error screen. We returned it and Best Buy easily exchanged it for a new one even outside of our return period. We ended up buying the one up from it with the 15.6” QHD screen and 3070 GPU. Other than this issue, we highly recommend this stylish yet powerful laptop!

This laptop is the definition of a beast. It runs games perfectly and it's great for handling any big programs without issue or lag. The laptop is physically amazing. It's the cutest size and the design really makes it stand out in the best way. I also think the keyboard on it is the best laptop keyboard I've ever used, and it has white back lights as well. Sadly, this laptop is not the one with the cute lights at the back of the screen like I saw in a YouTube video. However because of that it's actually lighter and the screen is slimmer. You wont have an issue with heat unless you're consistently using it on your lap, or if you're somehow in a desert. Battery life is not the greatest, especially if you're gaming and using the gpu. When the laptop is plugged in, it's almost a completely different laptop. Brighter screen, faster speeds and higher performance. * you can also log in with your fingerprint on the power button! I really love this laptop, I don't think another gaming laptop can top it.

Purchased 1 month ago for both gaming and art/animation (programs like Adobe suite, Toon Boom, and Autodesk Maya are very smooth). Runs smooth like butter but there are some REALLY headache-inducing caveats (software, from what I can tell). Without these, the experience could've been perfect. Asus' Armoury Crate is VERY poorly designed, compared to my experience with MSI's Dragon Center. If you care about customizing performance modes, you will have to go through forums and google to figure out configurations. Armoury Crate for some reason overwrites the Windows power plan settings and you need to find options so that your customizations don't keep getting switched to default. If it's not broken, don't fix it. But Armoury Crate and also Radeon Software adds a bunch of unnecessary features that attempt to "improve gaming", such as dialing up performance (can cause overheating) and making colors way too saturated (turn off Vari-bright to fix this). Even unplugging and plugging in the power cord will make the display go black to switch performance modes (this can be turned off too). These are small features, but when accumulated, it's like going on an easter egg hunt to disable the options you don't need. AMD Radeon's processor is the biggest problem with my laptop. The driver kept crashing and the Radeon Software app stopped working. When the driver crashes, the display goes black for a few seconds and returns to normal (sometimes one or two apps freeze or behave abnormally afterwards). Even uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers only fixed this temporarily. And we all know how aggravating it is to do a factory reset so soon after you move all your files to a new computer. Not to mention, this is apparently pretty common for Radeon. Overheating can be overcome if you increase fan speeds in Armoury Crate (which again is unintuitive to set). I manage to keep my temps to about 65c - 70c maximum. The fans get pretty loud though, to keep heat down. Battery life is very good for a gaming laptop. I can play about 6 hrs of movies on battery, and when not gaming the laptop is pleasantly silent. Keyboard feels very nice and fun to type on, touchpad is well designed. A little annoying that the Home, Page Up/Page Down and End buttons are not on the usual f9 f10 etc. keys (not a big deal though, you just need to hold FN and arrow keys) You might need to get a USB splitter because there aren't a lot of ports, especially if you rarely use USB-C cables. The absence of camera is also a bit dumb considering we're in the Era of Zoom. TLDR Asus' software is poorly designed compared to hardware. AMD Radeon is a wild card. Otherwise, this laptop has amazing potential. You'll probably have to spend some time re-configuring default settings. Maybe it depends on your luck if you get the same issues as me. Not sure if these are caused by ASUS manufacturing or Best Buy. My advice: don't move all your files before doing a very thorough trial run to examine the AMD processor. Maybe just do a factory reset right off the bat.

Overall great laptop. If I had one nitpick spec-wise, I wish it had a slightly lower CPU in exchange for a better GPU. Some notes about using this after a month: The display may appear washed out when you first use it. This can be improved by disabling Vari-Bright within Radeon Software (see first image). It's a power-saving measure, but it definitely hinders the display quality. No webcam: I find this a great benefit, but many others may disagree. The keyboard backlight is largely unnecessary. In dim lighting, the backlight may make the keys even harder to read. (see second image) The bottom can be easily opened; the SSD and one stick of RAM can be upgraded (8GB are soldered onto the main board). Other information can be obtained through video reviews, so please look there if you have not already. Search for "Gigabyte Zephyrus G14 2021", and most videos posted after February 2021 should be about this laptop.

Just because I am giving this a 3 star review, doesn't mean this is a bad laptop. Although this laptop as absolutely amazing, the reason I am shaving 2 stars off is because of an issue thats probably only isolated to me. When I 1st got the laptop, the "L" key was defective and I had to fix it myself. One of the metal latching pins for the plastic switch was bent at a 90 degree angle, cutting through plastic clips on the switch. After taking of the key, bending the pin back, and properly securing the switch, I put the key back on and I had no more Issues. Now to the pro's. The performance I have had with this laptop I have experienced is nothing short of amazing. The performance is absolutely amazing. What really stunned me is that the performance when unplugged is very minimally dropped. In GTA i managed to get 60+ fps, high settings, while only running on battery. The fan wasn't too loud either and the temps stayed in the 60's to 70's degrees C. Moving on the Pro 2, if you want to take this to school and get really good battery life, all you have to do is go to the armoury crate app, and you can disable the RTX 3060 to save battery life. Yes you heard me right, DISABLE. This was a lifesaver for me at school. The integrated graphics are still plenty, they can handle minecraft at 60+ fps and is it really power efficient. The only other CON i can think of is ghosting but the ghosting isn't as bad as it was on the previous g14 with the 2060 mq, and frankly most people won't even notice it. If you are looking for an ultra portable that can give you great performance and battery life, while being ultra-portable, this is the laptop.

When I was shopping for a new gaming laptop to replace my MSI Appache Pro 7RGE I wanted to look for a laptop that an AMD CPU and a better GPU something like a 1080Ti or 2070 Super. I stumbled across a post about Asus announcing their new G14 and G15 laptops supporting the new Ryzen 9th gen 4000 series mobile CPUs and throwing in 3060 and 3080's in them starting at $1499. Not gonna lie I flipped out lol I was incredibly excited about the news so I waited for them to drop and it was impossible to find one in any store, microcenter was even struggling to get them in but couldn't promise anything. So I checked our best buy and I found it available online so I didn't hesitate and bought the first available modle which happily was the G14 that came with the new Ryzen 5900HS and a 3060. Best upgrade....period....you can't find a laptop this powerful for under 2k, especially for it being only a 14in screen and weights just under 4lbs. I built a Ryzen desktop which I ended up doing 5k in and this laptop keeps up. If your ready this review do not hesitate, buy this model of the G14. Spending 1500 on gaming laptop and it keeps up with a rig with 5k worth of parts?....that rarely happens. Very impressed and satisfied with this laptop.

I researched gaming laptops for weeks and to be honest this was not my first choice. The rumors of it overheating while under heavy loads were worrisome to me. The rumors were true and I was gaming at around 85C which seemed too much for me. After finding the solution which was to turn off the automatic boost built into the laptop. Because of this, I can 100% recommend this product. This 14' laptop with extremely powerful components in it gets up to 12 hours of battery life on a full charge. Absolutely blown away.

I'm writing this review after using ASUS G14 laptop for 15 days now. I'm used this laptop for my research and computational purpose of fluid flow and I'm so impressed by this. I had a choice of purchasing Macbook pro but I feel this had better configuration and best value for money. I love its battery backup and follow its recommendation of 80% balanced charge and I get 8-9hrs of work done on a single charge including reading papers and running python scripts. Best part is it has much needed ports that helps integrate with my monitor and headset. I didn't have to buy anything additional. And, it feels so light, it feels like carbon fibre body works of car. Sp light yet so strong. Best laptop to carry around. One cons is it doesn't have webcam integrated but it has phone connect app, so i can use my phones camera for zoom meetings, but I already got extra webcam.

I've used it as my daily PC for the past few months and here's what I've noticed. Pros: 1. Lightweight and sleek. 2. Powerful. 3. Excellent build quality. 4. Good amount of ports. 5. Value for money. Cons: 1. No Webcam. 2. Fans can get loud in turbo mode. 3. Wifi driver doesn't always work on Linux. The workaround is a shutdown instead of a reboot while booting into Linux system. 4. WASD keys get quite hot while gaming. Use an external keyboard.
