8gb is soldered onto the motherboard and there is an 8gb stick in it. You can upgrade to a maximum of 40gb by replacing the 8gb stick. DDR5 isn't as affected as much by the lack of dual channel so shouldn't be a problem unlike precious generations.

I wouldn't recommend upgrading DDR5 ram since it is very expensive and isn't really worth it as DDR5 is already a huge improvement to DDR4.
