- Answer I'd save your cash and get a better laptop, you'll be unable to game for extended periods. The laptop's fans can't keep up with the heat, and the keyboard gets to over 100F after 10 min.

QuestionI cannot seem to get my Oculus CV1 to output any display from the discrete GPU with the USB-c adpater to hdmi since the the onboard HDMI output is from the radion GPU for some reason. Why am I not getting a signal from the discrete GPU on the USB type C.

- Answer Well if your gaming then this one, if you travel more this one. The only thing i7 has that is better is the i7 and maybe a slightly better screen. This is lighter, longer battery can actual get work done. is better looking, and also more ram and better GPU.

- Answer To correct the false information by ASUS, as a recent purchaser of this laptop and an owner of both the Rift S and Rift CV1, neither work on this laptop. No adapters, bios changes/updates, OS or software updates, etc fix this. I've tried it all and come to learn that they assume from paper specs rather than actually testing their products.

QuestionI am wanting to to get a 144hz monitor that when I hook will display at or around that. Asking if anyone has a monitor picked out and what are you using for your connection i.e. USB-C or HDMI for the best connection.

- Answer One model of this monitor already has a 120 hz display. But if you do want to hook up a monitor, it does have a USB type c port (should work for display purposes). Mind you that this model has Vega 10 integrated graphics and Nvidia dedicated graphics. In my opinion, you probably won't need the 144 hz display once you try the 120 hz display on the best buy model. But the final decision is upto you.

- Answer The wifi card struggles on large downloads, and Linus Tech Tips goes into this in this video https://youtu.be/KIVpgsCAHZk?t=315 , the link is timestamped so don't worry about skipping through it. But other than downloads I don't have any problems with network issues, I haven't encountered a problem playing any games.

QuestionI recently purchased this laptop and I love it so for but there is a high pitched noise coming from the laptop when its on. I don't know if it's just my system or not and would this warrant a replacement because the noise in very annoying.

- Answer Hello Chris, I had the same problem with my purchase, it produced this annoying high pitched sound too. I took it back to Best buy and got a replacement, but the replacement unit had the same issue, so I ended up getting a refund. Best buy Customer service was excellent though, maybe you should try and get a replacement and see if you get one that doesn't create the noise.

- Answer Asus recommends the 65 watt charging brick. It won't be able to sufficiently power while in full blown gaming mode, but for any other use, the USB C charging would be sufficient.

- Answer install DS4Windows first, plug in your controller via usb cable, and it'll be picked up by DS4Windows... after that, minimize the exe to tray, and use it like you would an xbox controller.

- Answer No, unlike ASUS who wants to insist just because it has USB-C to Displayport that the Rift S will work, it does not. I recently purchased this laptop, as well as a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter verified by many to work with the Rift S, and I can confirm it does not work, even on a fresh install. Nothing in the BIOS fixed it; no updates or drivers fixed it; the Rift S (as well as the Rift CV1 if you're curious) does NOT work on this laptop. By the way, ASUS I am extremely disappointed you would blindly suggest it works with your laptop without actually testing to see if it does.
