8GB is soldered on for every model of the G14. You can add another 4, 8, or 16 GB ram stick. You would be better off to get an 8GB stick so that the ram can run in dual channel properly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got this version of the G14 on Saturday (after buying an open box of the other that wouldn't boot). At the time i ordered an extra 8gb of RAM from Ebay (same memory). Anyway before i put in the extra 8gb i was only getting 16K on CPUMark. Put in the extra 8gb and it recognized as dual channel and the CPU mark is now 19800.
