The ASUS RT-AX82U V2 WiFi Extender does not require an Ethernet line to function. You can use it as a signal extender by plugging it into an outlet near your WiFi router and then placing it in an area where you need better coverage. This will help extend the WiFi signal to the opposite end of your house.
