“I have an external outdoor antenna to pass signals through my metal shop. Will I be able to use this device as a repeater/router and connect the outdoor antenna to on of the antennas on the unit? If so, which antenna connector should I use?”

Yes, you will be able to use this router as a repeater. ASUS doesn't provide hardware modification/customization support, please do it at your own discretion.
